This piece took many months of testing to figure out how to make the ridges stand up and not fall over, and remove all the air bubbles. Finally, it took designing a special cake decorating tip 3 times the size of a normal cake tip, several variations, a lot of sanding to make the edges smooth so lines would not show up in the paint, and a very expensive mold-able paint from the many tried.

This piece was a lot of frustration, but the worst pieces make you learn the most. This strip design had a dual purpose right off the bat... mainly meant for the zebra stripe painting design, but when extra paint was made, it worked well to add here into the mushroom coral too. It was suggested this strip idea could even make a sun with beams extending out.
