These pipe corals are of the fatter variety near the top, a unique look, and also made entirely from thick acrylic paint. As the palette of paint builds up, it can be peeled off and with this skin of paint, rolled into a sculptural pipe coral, all from unused dried paint.

Other sculptural forms can be peeled and added to a painting with Ruth Collis' style of drying the paint first, then adding these special forms to a painting.

The peachy coral foreground is a peeling technique she teaches in her online classes, of how to get the impressionable veiny texture lines.

She also has another class showing how to use the dried paintskins to form classy pipe corals and has combined both techniques in this single painting to make some highly sculptured effects.

A touch of blue pearl adds a shimmering highlight to front of the pipe corals, and finished with a protective varnish.

The beauty of using dried acrylic palette paint is that something cool is made from nothing, the cost of unused paint is saved, it prevents paint from going down the drain and not getting clogged in the pipes, and supports coral reef awareness.
